Excursion to the valley of giant Kerry trees with lunch

Travel south to Mandurah. Later continue through dense Jarrah Forests and hectares of fruit orchards. As we travel further south enter "Karri Country". These enormous trees are regarded as one of the largest trees in the world and at this point what better place to stop and enjoy a picnic lunch than at "Diamond Tree". At the top of this 51 metre Karri tree is a wooden cabin that was used as a fire lookout from 1941 to 1974. Our next stop is the highlight of today's tour - The Ancient Empire and the Valley of the Giants "Tree Top Walk". This spectacular tree top walk has been constructed through the canopy of this unique Tingle Forest and at it's highest point this rigid 400 metre-long bridge structure is around 40 metres above the forest floor. An alternate walk is available at ground level through the "ancient Empire". This area contains the "GIANTS" for which the forest was named and features a stand of trees some 5 metres in diameter at the base. Time now to leave the south west and start our return journey, via William Bay and Denmark stopping briefly for a light evening meal (own expense) in Williams before arriving in Perth at approximately 10.30pm. Note: Strong wind conditions may result in the closure of the Tree Top Walk, in which case alternative touring arrangements will be made.
