A Trip to the Margaret River Valley

Margaret River is fast becoming Australia's gourmet food and premium wine capital. The region is also renowned for its spectacular coastline, Karri Forests, underground cave network and picturesque countryside.

Today your touring will commence with morning tea at Dawesville Channel. You will then travel to the Xanadu Winery, one of the earliest established vineyards of the region, for a wine tasting. You will have the opportunity here to purchase from the winery's extensive cellar and merchandise collection.

Your next stop will be at the Eagle Heritage Raptor Wildlife Centre. At this centre you will have the unique opportunity to view and handle “birds of prey” from the largest collection of raptors in Australia. You will be amazed at their amazing speed during a fascinating free  flight display.

A fresh picnic lunch at the centre is included as part of your tour.

After the Wildlife Centre you will head to nearby Mammoth Cave, one of over 300 natural underground limestone caves in the district. An experienced tour guide will provide you with  fascinating insights into the creation of these amazing formations.

Travelling south you will then pass by the stunning Boranup Forest, a visual highlight of the region, before arriving at Augusta's famous Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, a geological point of significance marking the dividing point between the Southern and Indian Oceans.

The tour then heads north to Busselton Jetty – a two kilometre long construction and the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. There will be a break for light dinner at a charming cafe here (at your own expense).

Your tour will return to Perth at approximately 9.30 pm.
