Situated along the re-developed Kensington Street precinct, The Old Clare Hotel is the first Australian hotel from the unconventional Unlisted Collection:. With its rich, varied history and architecture, Chippendale has become the home of choice for dozens of art galleries, production houses, graphic and fashion design studios, plus Sydney’s most exciting new restaurants, cafés and bars.

The Old Clare Hotel is home to three new restaurants from esteemed chefs Sam Miller, Clayton Wells and Jason Atherton. Whether you spend Sydney’s abundant daylight hours at the beach, in boutiques or exploring the harbour, your nightlife and downtime are all sorted.

The Clare bar embraces the same ethos that made its prior incarnation so beloved, welcoming any and all to drink, laugh, relax and connect.

Serving as the hotel lobby bar as well as the preferred watering hole for locals, indie rock lovers, bohemians, university students, artists and intellectuals.

Natural light floods this meeting space that can accommodate up to 16 people around its centrepiece, a large carved wooden table harkening back to the Carlton & United Breweries boardroom. The Meeting Room also has all the mod cons, with super-fast WiFi, telephone and audio-visual equipment, taking the stress out of even the grandest multimedia presentation. With 62-rooms, three restaurants and two bars in house, it’s also easy to reward the staff for sitting through your annual ‘year in review’ with something spectacular.

Have a swim or take in the vast views of the surrounding suburbs and plot your evening’s escapades. Unlike many rooftop bars, here you don’t have to wear all white or throw a drink in someone’s face (in fact we’d rather you didn’t).  

Enjoy the bird’s eye view of Chippendale that the Rooftop Pool and Bar affords, and soak up some sun, a stone’s throw away from Central Station. During your stay, why not invite some old or new friends over to meet you, it’s a great spot to mix with savvy locals.

The gym features Technogym machines and free weights, with personal training available. Bikes can also be hired from reception for those who prefer to take their exercise incidentally, between coffees, and discovering what’s new in Chippendale.
