White Island and Mt. Taravera (3.5 hours)

The violent eruption of Tarawera in 1886 , was one of the most notable events of the 19th century. White Island (or Whakaari) is located 52km off the Bay of Plenty Coastline and is one of the New Zealand’s most active volcanoes and the scenery is lunar-like and truly spectacular. Phillip Island Penguin Parade Deluxe

Wooroonooran National Park Experience

World Heritage-listed Wooroonooran National Park is located away from the beaten tourist tracks so you can revitalise yourself in tranquil rainforest settings. Your “Window to the Wilderness” tour begins on Queensland’s Gold Coast, truly a holiday paradise.  However, a short distance beyond the beaches another paradise awaits, Nature’s Paradise, the World Heritage Listed Rainforests of Lamington National Park.  The trek into the Hinterland region follows the original pioneer’s track to the volcanic plateau of Tamborine Mountain. This area of secluded eucalyptus forests provides a private sanctuary for koala,s wallabies and other unique Australian wildlife.

Upon arrival at Tamborine Mountain, you can enjoy a break for morning tea with delicious fresh scones served with jams, cream, tea and coffee. There will also be time to browse through the craft and gift shops on the Mountain's Gallery Walk.

The day with nature continues as the four-wheel drive negotiates mountainside tracks. We might encounter a shy koala sleeping the day away in a gum tree, catch a glimpse of a resident wallaby or come across a goanna basking in the sun.  Who knows what other natural experiences lie ahead as we travel deeper into the bush?

Time to stretch the legs when guides, who are renowned for their local knowledge and expertise, escort you on a leisurely bush walk. Discover lush subtropical rainforests with cascading waterfalls, learn about the forest's unique characteristics, how the Aboriginal people gathered food from the forest floor, and the animals and birds that call the area home.

Lunch time, getting hungry?  Tucked away in the Aussie bush beside a crystal clear creek is our unique lunch venue “Spring Gully”.  With all the appeal of ‘The Outback” yet only a short distance from the Gold coast, this property provides the ideal venue for a delicious BBQ lunch with all the trimmings.  Mouth-watering beefsteaks, chicken, fish or vegetarian meals accompanied by crisp salads and fresh fruit. Entertainment includes a whip cracking demonstration and everyone is encouraged to participate, often with hilarious results! On a hot summer’s day, nearby cool waters and rock pools provide the opportunity for a refreshing swim so it is recommended that guests bring their swimsuits.

Following lunch, the tour continues on into the mountainous regions of Lamington National Park (Australia’s largest preserved natural stand of subtropical rainforest).  At O’Reilly’s Plateau, some 914 metres (3,000 feet )above sea level, colourful native birds congregate and can be hand fed.  The Treetop Boardwalk through the rainforest canopy offers a bird’s eye view of this enchanting area, especially for those who climb the observation tower, while a browse through Gran O’Reilly’s Gift Shop will reveal unique souvenirs of your visit to this special place.

Leaving O’Reilly’s, the four-wheel drive heads down to the Kerry Valley along a bush track.  The magnificent view of mountains and valleys to the west provide some great photo opportunities.  On the return journey to the Gold Coast, sightings of kangaroos are common as they emerge from their bush retreats at dusk to feed on the lush pastures of the Kerry Valley farmlands.

Gold Coast Tour and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Commencing at the foyer of your hotel, your luxury vehicle will transport you south along the coastal strip of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. You will continue south, passing some of the city's 42 kilometres of pristine surf and sand, while your guide gives a fascinating commentary on the facts and figures of the Gold Coast, history, current happenings and general way of life for locals.

Along the way you’ll also have the chance to stop and put your feet in the golden sand and crystal-clear water of some of the world’s most glorious beaches. There is plenty of time and ideal vantage points to get that perfect photo of the beach and the famous Gold Coast skyline.

The next stop is the New South Wales/Queensland border town of Coolangatta and nearby Point Danger. Jump between the two states by just crossing the road, but watch out in summer time as you’ll either gain or lose an hour instantaneously!

Get up close and personal with some the countries cutest and deadliest animals at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you will have the chance to hand feed kangaroos and have your photo taken with a koala. Have a laugh with the rainbow lorikeets as they perch themselves on you as you feed them. Fall in love with the cuddly wombats. Be sure to take in the Aboriginal culture show where you’ll see traditional tribal wear, dance and music.

Before you leave, stop in at the Currumbin gift store to pick up souvenir t-shirts, Australian wildlife toys and postcards.

Leaving the park by early afternoon, you’ll travel back north towards the city of lights. For an additional fee, your tour can include a visit to the tallest residential building in the world – Q1. Travel up the 77 floors to the observation deck to watch the sun set over the Gold Coast.

Sea World is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, and theme park located on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It includes rides, animal exhibits and other attractions, and it promotes conservation through education and the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured or orphaned wildlife

 

Warner Bros. Movie World (more commonly referred to as Movie World) is a movie related theme park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

The park contains various movie-themed rides and attractions ranging from motion simulators to roller coasters and slow river rides. In addition, famous characters also patrol the park, allowing visitors the chance to take photos with them. These include Batman, Austin Powers, Marilyn Monroe, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy and various Looney Tunes characters. Minor street shows including skits and singing performances are also present. The All-Star Parade showcases characters alongside vehicles and movie-themed floats

 

Dreamworld is a theme park situated on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It is Australia's largest theme park with over 40 rides and attractions, including five roller coasters.

The park is made up of several themed lands: Ocean Parade, DreamWorks Experience, Wiggles World, Gold Rush Country, Rocky Hollow, Tiger Island and the Dreamworld Corroboree. These lands have a collection of rides, animal exhibits, shows, food outlets and merchandise shops

 

Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast is a massive water park situated in Oxenford, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, owned and operated by Village Roadshow Theme Parks. The park remains open all year with all of the pools and slides heated during the winter months. It is one of seven water parks operating under the Wet'n'Wild brand globally.

Tour to Hinterland and River CFruise “Catch a Crab”

At 8am you will depart your hotel on the Gold Coast for a 9am departure on the Tweed Endeavour crab catching tour. On board a specially designed river cruiser you can take part in a range of exciting activities such as feeding pelicans, yabbie pumping, fishing, and trapping for crabs. Or, if you prefer, you can simply sit back and enjoy the spectacular natural beauty of the Tweed River. All the equipment for your activities, fishing equipment and bait are included in the tour. Your friendly crew will also provide tea or coffee and biscuits for morning tea, and a delicious crab lunch. Alcohol, soft drinks and juices are extra.

After the cruise, your coach will pick you up and take you on a Hinterland tour through Bilambil to Murwillumbah and then through Chillingham to Natural Bridge. Along this route you will see rolling green hills, rivers and mountain creeks, lush countryside with fields of sugar cane, then cattle country and banana plantations. This tour is all within the caldera of the Mt Warning shield volcano. The caldera valley is over 1000 meters deep and has a diametre of 40 kilometres, making it one of the largest craters in the world. The Mt Warning volcano stopped erupting about 20,000years ago. The ash and lava have been deposited to a diameter of about 100 kilometres.

Next is the picturesque Numinbah Valley (from an Aboriginal word Nyummin (hold tight)) as it was thought to hold two mountains together. In the Numinbah Forest reserve you will find Eucalypt trees, Silky Oaks and unique and pretty native plants such as the Kangaroo Paw.

Natural Bridge, a location for many movies and TV commercials, is the home of one of Australia’s largest glow worm colonies. The rock formation over Cave Creek features in thousands of photo albums and home movies.

This plantation paradise is actually situated on the rim of the largest extinct volcano in the southern hemisphere and offers breathtaking views of the Tweed Valley and McPherson Ranges.

Tropical Fruit World grows the largest range of tropical and rare fruit in the world and is blended with a native reserve of rain forest trails, landscaped waterways and native animals. Tropical Fruit World offers both international and domestic visitors an authentic taste of Australia.

Our tour begins with a scenic drive from the Gold Coast along the picturesque road through Tweed Heads and continuing on to Tropical Fruit World. Once there we will transfer from our bus to a comfortable tractor train for a ride through the exotic fruit plantations. Our guide will explain how the various fruits are grown, harvested, and marketed and answer any of our questions. We then go further into the plantation on a boat along a man-made tropical river, and see native birds, animals, and hopefully even a koala!

A miniature train ride is also part of our tour.
